Letters to The World

 Second Journey to India

The Rabble of the City
The sultry music filled Incense
The City Walls
Vanishing beyond the Horizon

Marx
Believed Communism would eventually someday
Conquer the World
Like Darius
Buddha
Alexander
Caesar, Christ, Charlemagne,
Mehmet, Genghis Khan, Rudolf of Habsburg, Suleiman the Magnificent,
Fredrick I of Prussia, Woodrow Wilson,
And Adolf Hitler.

India
Is still a largely polytheistic society.
Karl would be better off selling his highly philosophic
Theorem to Wall Street.

But is The Hindu Tradition
The End for Socialism in India.
Perhaps

I suspect India is a more Capitalistic Society
Than Gandhi would have us Think
The by product of Hundreds of Years of British Sociocultural Tutelage

Nevertheless India
Has Concerns Capitalism is née well ever
Going to Solve
Jesus
Universal Suffrage
Social Security
For to The Capitalist Utopia
Is but a matter of Convenience
Today we Drive
Tomorrow we push a Shopping Cart
down the middle of Market Alley.

Thus Wall Street
Picks up
Where Ol Bess leaves off
Instituting Capitalism
For The Caste System

Give me your teeming masses
Yearning to breathe free
Indeed

But The Susquehanna
Is not The Ganges
And Ronald Reagan
Is not God

An Oracle older than Alexander
To he who would inter The Jungle Alone
Or seek to cross The Himalayas
Without a Guide
Nor take Opium
And The Book of the Dead
As a Path to Spiritual Enlightenment

Man fears only Time
But Time fears only The Pyramids
