Yesterday, I spent a few hours standing outside La Moneda, the seat of government in Chile, awaiting the arrival of President Obama. After enduring all the security and crowd control, finally, the caravan arrived and, for a few short moments, we could see the President, the First Lady, and, then, the kids.
Amidst all of the items on the President's foreign policy agenda-- Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, to name but a few-- it seems unlikely that this visit accomplished much. Nonetheless, I enjoyed all the buzz about the visit.
