There is so much clutter in the Indian Chinese restaurant business that it's often difficult to differentiate one from the other. And why not, after all Chinese was the first international cuisine that Indians took to in style (so what if we embellished it beyond repair).

In the midst of this chaos, one Chinese restaurant found a mention from discerning foodies more than just a few times. This place is called The Monk, and is located in what urban snobs would call 'distant Gurgaon'. Our take: A restaurant located in the suburbs of the National Capital Region creating buzz is reason enough to sit up and take notice.

The Monk now boasts of an outlet in South Delhi's DLF Place Mall in Saket. The menu at The Monk is vast, and the Noodle Bowls and the Sticky Rice Bowls stand out as complete meals. We'd recommend you try the Soba Noodles with asparagus, snow peas, Chinese cabbage and carrot or the sliced lamb in its non vegetarian avatar. The Japanese street noodles are healthier than wheat noodles and easier to digest as well. The Grilled Salmon with the Penang Curry and the Sliced River Sole with X.O. sauce are our picks from the Rice Bowls.

The Udon Noodles are another novelty for those who have the taste for it. As in every Chinese meal, don't forget to skip dessert at the end. They're overfried, excessively sweet and very vanilla. Besides, chances are that you've consumed more than your share of calories already!
